Oriental Insurance Company
On 12th of September 1947 Oriental Insurance Company was incorporated in Bombay (Mumbai). Its main aim is to indulge General insurance business. In 1956 it has become the subsidiary of Indias life insurance corporation and has served up to 1973 when in India General insurance Business was nationalized. After a passage of an Insurance Amendment Bill in 2002 Oriental Insurance Company then linked from the General Insurance Corporation of India. At the same year all the company shares which were under General Insurance Corporation, transferred to Central Government.
The company has emerged with time as the top insurance providers of the country. Now it has expanded into many insurance fields so that it can provide the requirements of the rural and urban population of the country. In 1950 its premium was 99,946 Rs and now it has developed to get the premium of 4020 crores Rs. Oriental insurance Company has competent, technically qualified and dedicated 16,000 employees who always keen to provide the requirements of customers.
