With the aim to turn out to be significant life insurance company HSBC insurance Holdings Limited, Oriental Bank of Commerce and Canara Bank in Mar 2007 established together insurance company. On 16 June 2008 Canara HSBC OBC has commenced the business after receiving the approvals by an Insurance Regulatory Development Authority. Its head quarter is situated in Gurgaon. Canara Bank has 51% equity of the Canara HSBC OBC where as holdings of OBC and HSBC are 23% and 26% respectively.
This joint venture’s first paid up amount is about INR 325 crore. These 3 banks have merged with the assurance that it will become the important player in blooming insurance market of India that has witnessed an entry of various private companies over last a few years. In India to become the prominent company in the insurance market, Canara HSBC OBC has spread its 4100 branches all over India to cater the customers.
Canara HSBC OBC provides unit linked whole life plan which offers a balance between the investments and the protection for the varying requirements of a policy holder throughout the different stage of life. This plan not only provides security to a person but also fulfill dreams of the family members for the lifetime. This plan is flexible also as it provides a choice on an amount of the cover and also a flexibility to invest in the fund options.
